For two of the three co-owners at EPT, Hazel Rodgers and Colin Holliday, both lifelong Manchester City fans, it had been a long wait see their team lift the most prestigious domestic trophy, as it was last won by Manchester City before they were born in 1968.
Hazel Rodgers was lucky enough to attend the game with one of EPT’s long serving Electrical Engineers, Peter Hansen, himself and lifelong Manchester City fan. Hazel Rodgers said: “It was a dream come true to be at the game and see us win in such dramatic circumstances. I had given up hope, but the boys somehow pulled it out of the bag to cap an incredible season!”
The dream continued on Monday 14th May 2012, as both Hazel and Colin attended the victory parade and were within yards of the stage, as the celebrations got under way. So close in fact that when Vincent Kompany posted a picture on Twitter, those with a keen eye would be able to spot our Finance Director Colin Holliday in between the two speakers at the bottom right of the picture.
Colin Holliday said, “I’m delighted for all City fans that the team were able to achieve what seemed an impossible dream! It’s been a surreal couple of days that will live long in the memory.”
“I have been particularly impressed by the #together campaign that the club has promoted this year. It is a valuable lesson that transcends the sporting world to demonstrate that with the right team of people, striving to achieve a shared goal, together we too can be champions of our destiny.”
